The Conception of History in White Deer Plain

Abstract：The conception of history in the novel White Deer Plain has always been one of the focuses and concernes since it was published.The author’s broadened and deepened historical thoughts are embodied between the lines.In the strive to explore the historical spirit in the art world， the author broadens the range of aesthetics through the use of his unique and profound historical thoughts in the narration.Based on the study of the conception of history in White Deer Plain，this paper classifies the existing views into three kinds，namely，the secret history view，the lost view and the recurrence view.Then this paper starts to analyze the social，cultural and historical background of the novel and the literature trends，and also analyzes the cause-and-effect chain to explain the view of history contained in the novel.An conclusion can be drawned that with the historical materialism as its standing point，the novel White Deer Plain，through the narration and description of the changes of the famlily， has rethought the chronic illness of the past and the realistic mistakes in the forms of aesthetics. The main objective of the novel is to arouse the Chinese national spirit， uphold the anti-feudalism banner，and expect to draw others attention to save the society.All these are not merely the description of the unexpected fates and historical events.
