Analysis of lowvoltage PLC channel characteristic based on Kolmogorov entropy

This paper introduced the Kolmogorov entropy theory to study the characteristics of lowvoltage power line communication (LPLC) channel, computed the Kolmogorov entropy of time series measured from the LPLC channel under different conditions and the main results were as follows: the value of Kolmogorov entropy was positively correlated with the running condition of power system and was positive when the embedding dimension was big enough. And the value tends to be saturated with the increase of embedding dimension. At the meantime, the Kolmogorov entropy is greatly affected by the transmission bands and sampling interval of data measurement circuits. Accordingly, the following conclusions are drawn: the LPLC channel is a chaotic system and can be predicted for a short time interval. The Kolmogorov entropy can be employed as one of the parameters to describe the model of LPLC channel and estimate the characteristics of the channel. ......
